Now, here is another favourite topic of mine: Footbal (or Soccer if you like).
Yesterday I made the mistake (or rather, reckless action) of playing another game of footbal on a second consecutive day.
I don’t know how or what got me hooked to this game but it’s been a year and half since I started playing three times a week, be it rain or shine.
So, going back to yesterday’s game. It was just plain fantastic. I couldn’t walk afterwards…
So I had to cancel on my friends today… BUT, as a bonus I am going to be able to go the “Music Hall”!
I’ll update with pictures and stories that will happen there ;).
I can’t wait!
So, for now, this is yet another short blog post, but all I can muster until now…
I still don’t know where to start, or what to say, but I’ll figure it out as I go.
Ever since I was a kid, I loved the ecology and everything green. I would try to convince my parents to recycle and dreamt of driving an electric car. Well, guess what! The electric car is (almost) finally here. Almost because I don’t think it is available yet in my country.
An electric car, that recharges its battery goes as fast as 145km/h and has a battery life of 7 hours before you have to recharge it.
You can check their website for more specs/design/features.
So, during the Music and Arts Festival in Beirut Souks this year, I have watched one of my favorite bands on Monday May 23rd in the Souks.
It was one of their best performances. Although I think the one at AUB was really the best, with an excellent sound system.
Now the real reason behind this post is that they performed on my birthday. Translation: Best birthday wish ever đ The first song that appears in this video is the one I got. I simply can’t wait until July to listen to their album. The songs are in Lebanese Arabic and cover everything, from Windows (Chbabik) to Street Lamps (Daw el Baladiyyi). I will update you about their concerts and events every time I get the chance to attend one of them. God knows how many I’ve missed and hated myself for it.
Let the cult of Adonis* begin.
Here is the link to their Youtube video.
I hope you like them as much as I do.
*Adonis, a Phoenician Lord, is a favorite of Aphrodite in Greek Mythology. But the Band refers to Adonis, a town in the suburbs in Lebanon. I will post more on this in times to come.
Adonis is a collaboration between six young Lebanese musicians with a very diverse and eclectic baggage of musical inïŹuences.
The band got together in summer 2010, and has been experimenting ever since with language and music, composing, performing and recording, in a constant search for an authentic sound that would highly appeal to the local popular culture, and yet maintain their artistic integrity and vision.
The bandâs ïŹrst studio album is to be released in July 2011.
I do keep an Idea Box. It’s actually a very small notebook, where I jot down everything that comes to my mind. I try to did as often as possible and it has become kind of like a treasure to me.
I have to many things to say, I don’t even know where to begin…
Let’s just say this for the moment: an Idea Box is the best idea I’ve heard so far today. (This may change…)
